For this expressive illustration, Raul Gastão was inspired by the “Up” Armchair (1969) from Gaetano Pesce. Nicknamed “Donna” or “Mamma” is an icon of contemporary design that convey a political message of denounce the condition of women in the world. It’s design is a metaphor of the shape of the women with a ball and chain, a traditional image of a prisoner.
 
Printed like a scarf, this cotton piece can be worn in a multitude of ways; tied as an elegant skirt, knotted at the neck to create a simple dress or folded into a wrap top.These are just a few possible variations that with its striped effect and colors represent the spirit of summer.
